Saturday 16th January 1988 - Frank King's butchers stall fittings are removed on the last day of trading in Wigan Market Hall.
Tuesday 15th January 1974 - Former Wigan Rugby League great, Ken Gee, pulls his last pint with wife, Margaret, as he retires as landlord of the Railway Hotel in Pemberton.
Friday 17th January 1997 - Former governor of the Bank of England, Robin Leigh-Pemberton, then known as Lord Kingsdown, with nursery and school children during his visit to Pemberton Community High School, Montrose Avenue, Wigan.
