Festive fun as around 10,000 people visit the ever popular Standish Christmas market

Thousands weathered the heavy showers to pay a visit to the popular Standish Christmas market.

Residents and visitors enjoyed a bustling selection of more than 80 artisan stalls – with handmade crafts, local produce, and festive food and drink – live performances on two stages; real reindeer with their sleigh; a full-sized snowglobe which you could pose for photos inside and the appearance of Father Christmas in Standish Library.

Shops and food outlets also put on special offers for customers.

The day was opened by High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Martin Ainscough, who lives in Standish.
