These are the new Wigan eateries set to open in 2019

We've come up with a list of eateries either being built, in the planning stages or rumoured to be opening some time this year.

The Farmhouse Inns carvery is almost complete and set to open in May

Plata Tapas has a licence request in with Wigan Council and hopes to be open for summer under the arches on Queen Street, providing a range of dishes
Following its closure last year, owners Star Pubs are on the lookout for new tenants for the canalside restaurant
After closing its doors in 2016, The Crown was bought by Wigan firm Publican last December - and a hunt is on for a prospective tenant
The new owners of The Crown have also taken on the Vale Royal and while it is unlikely to reopen as a big restaurant, they are open to the idea of different units
Since the closure of Jamal at Robin Park there has been an empty space next door to Frankie and Bennys - there are rumours a healthy eating restaurant may open on the site
The Munch sandwich shop on Wigan Lane has closed, and there are rumours a tapas restaurant may be opening on the site
