National Biscuit Day on Sunday 29 May is a chance to celebrate the humble biscuit – but some are more humble than others.

It was comedian Peter Kay who once joked about the frailties of the rich tea, and that the Hobnob was ‘a better class of biscuit’ when it came to dunking, but was he right?

Well, we’re not afraid of a challenge, so we sent our intrepid reporter armed with rich tea, Hobnob, pink wafer, custard cream and chocolate digestive biscuits into the kitchen to find out.
