Website founder, Caroline Brooks, confirmed that thousands of people had visited the site in its first five months.

She said: “Interest in the site has snowballed and it has been great to get feedback from mums, dads, parents and grandparents who have found out about things going on locally that they can do with their families.

“A mum of two myself, I created the site to provide up-to-date information on what’s on locally, recommendations from local parents, healthcare information and more.”

She added: “It covers such things as classes, groups, days out, support services, parties and child friendly eating. There are obviously national parenting sites, but Mumbler is different in that it is hyper local. Its sole focus is Doncaster and everyone who uses and visits the site is based in and around Doncaster.”

She said she was delighted to be supporting Doncaster Public Health and the Doncaster Health Visitors with their new ‘we support our  mums’ campaign, to help breastfeeding mums feel more comfortable when out and about in Doncaster.

She added that the Mumbler chat group had become popular with more than 1,000 active members,  parents and carers asking for recommendations and sharing knowledge: “It’s also been great to work with organisations such as Light Pre-and Post natal support to make sure that if mums are using Doncaster Mumbler and they need a little extra support, they know who to reach out to.”
