The World Bubble Festival begins today in Caernarfon, North Wales, and Spring View resident Emma Pickering has been invited to join world-famous “bubble artists” from around the world, bringing bubbly entertainment to the masses.

Emma has been a bubble artist for around three years, hosting events across Wigan for people of all ages through her own side business, eBublio Magical Bubbles.

And over the course of this weekend in Wales, she’ll get to share her experiences with her peers at the Bubble Daze Conference.

Emma said: “I’m extremely honoured to be part of this fabulous event and would like to thank the people of Caernarfon for providing this opportunity for me and my fellow bubble enthusiasts from all around the world to gather together with our bubble magic.

“Visiting Wales to share the wonder, magic and the elegant beauty of bubbles is a privilege for myself and my fellow artists. When all the horrors of the world can be seen so easy these days, it’s wonderful to be able to escape to appreciate these magical spheres and the activities will be an opportunity to do this. I can’t wait to be part of this event.”

The festival began in San Francisco in 2009, and was last held in Boston, USA, in 2016.

Mum-of-two Emma spoke of the universal appeal of bubble displays saying: “I like it from the sensory aspect. Bubbles are great for everyone from little babies and toddlers, right up to people in there 80s. They get as much enjoyment as the children!

“It’s lovely seeing these families, from the young to the old, getting such enjoyment. Their faces light up - bubbles bring so much joy. It’s nice to see.”

One of the organizers, Paola Dyboski-Bryant from Dr Zigs in Bangor, said: “Having so many talented bubble artists in one place is a world-first. We are honoured to host such a unique event and proud to offer the opportunity to enjoy such exceptional feast to our local communities.

“We hope that these artists will go back to their own countries and tell their families, friends and followers how much fun they have had in North Wales, how beautiful it is, and how welcoming and endearing the people who live here are.”

For three full days, Caernarfon will be transformed to accommodate spectacular public events showcasing the magic of giant bubbles.

A full programme has been organised which include maths and science sessions, a bubble rave for families in the morning followed by two spectacular shows in the afternoon and evening. The audience will also be able to see square bubbles, bubble tornadoes, bubble puppets, exploding bubbles and more.
