His family issued an open invitation to the public to attend his funeral after the seven-year-old lost his battle with neuroblastoma earlier this month.

People lined Ince Green Lane, in Ince, as the large procession made its way to Christ Church for a service this afternoon.

Leading the way was Braiden’s dad Wayne and his brothers Tyler and Kody, who were dressed as superheroes.

Behind them was a car carrying flowers and teddies, then a horse-drawn carriage with Braiden’s coffin.

They were followed by relatives, friends and people who had been touched by Braiden’s story.

Many wore blue - Braiden’s favourite colour - while others dressed up as his favourite characters, including Ninja Turtles and Transformers.
