Car ploughs into telegraph pole after police smash
A police chase ended dramatically when the car officers were pursuing ploughed into a telegraph pole on a Wigan road.
The incident happened on Prescott Street near the junction with Frog Lane at around 6am on Thursday.
Firefighters were called to the scene to cool the engine of the blue Citroen down as it was smoking.
Police were already at the scene but it is currently unclear exactly what caused the chase to begin. Further details to follow ...
