Colourful fun as town hails the Chinese new year

Lion and dragon dancers entertained onlookers in the town centre, and later on they were also able to enjoy a martial arts demonstration and listened to Chinese music.

Some of the acts also went on to repeat their performances at the Museum of Wigan Life.

At this latter venue, Confucius Classroom also supervised oriental art classes in painting, caligraphy and paper cutting which had a Year of the Dog theme.

And all the participants had the chance to dress up in traditional costumes.
