A suspended sentence was given to a Wigan man who threatened to burn down a house.
A Wigan 30-year-old who admitted threatening to burn down a man’s house has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Robert Taylor, now of no fixed address but previously of Adamson Street, Ashton, pleaded guilty to threatening to damage or destroy property after the incident on March 5, 2024.
He also confessed to possessing class B drug cannabis on March 20, 2024.
A third charge of possession of an electrical incapacitation device on the latter date was denied and that has now been dismissed after no evidence was offered.
Wigan magistrates imposed an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered him to do 30 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £85 prosecution costs and a £187 surcharge.
A restraining order bans him from contacting the man and going to a street in Ashton for the next two years.
