Appeal for information continues after serious assault

Police were called at about 7.30am on Sunday April 4 following a report a man had been found with serious injuries near Ferndale in the Birch Green area of Skelmersdale.

He had been making his way to work when he was targeted.

Officers' enquiries suggested the incident took place near to Firbeck.

Man narrowly avoids jail after drunken attack on boy, 14

Police released a shocking image of the man covered in blood from the attack.

An investigation is ongoing and detectives have arrested two people on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 17-year-old and 19-year-old from Skelmersdale were arrested last week and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Det Sgt Karen Harrsion, of Skelmersdale CID, said: “While we have made two arrests our enquiries are very much continuing and I would appeal to anyone who has any information or footage which could assist to get in touch with us.

“The victim of this assault received some really serious injuries and continues to recover.”
