Banned motorist caught drink-driving

A banned motorist who was caught at the wheel when more than three times over the drink-drive limit has been jailed.

Stefan O’Sullivan, 26, of Little Pasture, Leigh, was told by Wigan magistrates that “by the manner of your driving, you clearly did put yourself and other road users at serious risk of injury or death. In that respect you certainly do pose a risk to the public.”

The hearing was told that on October 15 O’Sullivan gave a reading of 112 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath when the legal limit is 35.

He also pleaded guilty to driving the Mercedes on Ednor Road when uninsured and to breaching a community order issued by Chester magistrates after he assaulted a police office. He was given a total of 16 weeks behind bars, banned from the road for a further 44 months and ordered to pay £128 towards victim services.
