Bomb-making equipment and 'kill list' at Wigan prison spark major anti-terror alert
Anti-terror police were called to HMP Hindley following the alarming discovery of wires, circuit boards and foil blankets, which could potentially have been used to make an explosive device, following a tip-off.

Hide AdA police spokesperson told The Sun newspaper: “Police were called shortly before 6pm to HMP Hindley on Saturday 1 December 2018, to reports that suspicious items were found in a cell.
“Specialist police officers attended and deemed the items were not suspicious.”
It was reported a list of names, suspected to be targets, was found.
In the end specialist anti-terrorism officers decided the objects did not represent a threat.
A man was moved to a separation unit at the prison.
