Borough police stop car being driven by provisional license holder
A driver who got behind the wheel without holding a full licence or insurance was caught after pulling out into the road right in front of a police car.
Officers from GMP's Serious Collisions Investigation Unit (SCIU) were on patrol when a Mini pulled out in front of them without looking. Officers noted the car was being driven erratically.
The car was stopped by the officers, who quickly established that the driver only held a provisional licence. They also did not have insurance for the car.
On the GMP Leigh, Atherton and Hindley social media channels, the police wrote: "#GMPSCIU spotted this Mini after it pulled out in front of their liveried police vehicle without looking, then began to drive in an erratic manner. Vehicle stopped and the driver found to be a provisional licence holder and have no insurance."
