Burgling knifewoman is jailed for 26 months

A woman who stole power tools, tried to break into a vehicle and being armed with a knife has been jailed.

Gemma Fletcher, 32, of Holden Road, Leigh, had previously appeared before Wigan magistrates to plead guilty to snatching an impact drill, chop saw, batteries and a dash cam worth £1,000 belonging to Bryn Hodson.

She also admitted to interfering with a Vauxhall Astra with the intention of committing a crime, and having a bread knife in Runcliffe Close, Leigh - all on the same day, January 16 this year.

Fletcher was also convicted of breaking into a house in Bradford Road, Bolton, the day before.

Appearing before a Bolton Crown Court judge for sentencing, she was jailed for a total of 26 months.
