A dropped fag end has cost a Wigan man dear.
John Niller, 53, of Warrington Road, Abram, was prosecuted for discarding a cigarette end on Chorlton Street, Manchester, on January 16 this year.
He was convicted via the single justice procedure which aims to speed up minor cases by assuming guilt unless the defendant challenges the verdict or evidence.
A fine, costs and victim services surcharge imposed on the defendant by Tameside justices came to £433.
