Wigan man escapes immediate prison sentence after breaching terms of sex offenders' register
Wigan man sentenced for failing to tell police about two aliases, which was a requirement of the sex offenders’ register.
A suspended prison sentence has been handed to a Wigan man who breached sex offenders’ register requirements.
Stephen Knight, 52, of Gilroy Street, Scholes, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with notification requirements by not informing police of two aliases on August 16.
Manchester magistrates imposed a 16-week prison sentence but suspended it for 12 months, stating there was a “realistic prospect of rehabilitation” and he was “doing well” on his community order.
Knight must pay £85 prosecution costs.
