A local woman is charged with dangerous driving while flouting a road ban and attempting to avoid arrest

It is alleged that a banned Wigan borough motorist drove dangerously while trying to give police the slip.

Jessica Renshaw, 36, of Gort Lane, Atherton, stood before city justices accused of dangerously driving a Vauxhall Insignia along several Manchester roads on October 10 while disqualified and uninsured to be behind the wheel.

She is further charged with failing to stop for police and then being found with a folding knife with a blade longer than 3ins when she was detained.

No pleas have yet been entered and Renshaw was granted conditional bail until a first appearance at Manchester Crown Court on November 13.
