A young motorist who took cocaine and cannabis before getting behind the wheel has been spared a road ban.

Tara Smith, 22, of Newhaven Avenue, Leigh, appeared before Wigan justices to admit having illegal levels of both drugs in her system while at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta outside her house on July 8. The bench decided not to ban her, but put 10 points on her licence and fined her.
