Drunken scooter rider awaits fate

Robert Rowley, 34, of Marshall Street, Leigh, was stopped by police on Sandringham Drive on December 3 and breathalysed, Wigan justices heard. He gave a reading of 104 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath when the legal limit is 35 microgrammes. Rowley pleaded guilty to drug-driving and also to not being insured to ride the vehicle.

Sentencing is on January 18.
