Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the charges are all in connection wit the fatal stabbing of 47-year-old Debbie Twist on Manchester Road on Sunday March 17, 2019.

An investigation has remained on-going since that incident run by GMP's Major Incident Team.

Police arrested a murder suspect but it was revealed last September that following discussions with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) the man faces no further action.

The four suspects were due to be in the dock at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court today.

Officers were called to a property on the Leigh street on St Patrick's Day 2019 by the ambulance services to reports that a woman had been stabbed.

Ms Twist, a mother of three and grandma of three, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An inquest into her death was opened at Bolton Coroner's Court but then adjourned pending the criminal investigations.
