Golf club-wielding lout who threatened motorist faces Wigan magistrates

Motorist Benjamin Isherwood appeared before Wigan magistrates to admit to menacing a member of the public with an offensive weapon and affray.

The hearing was told that the 27-year-old of Manchester Road, Leigh, swung the blunt instrument at a man in a car park off Norweb Way during an incident on the morning of March 9 2019.

Isherwood got back in his car then a few minutes later got out again and swung the club for a second time at the victim and his car. The court was told that, thankfully, the weapon did not connect with either victim or vehicle.

The hearing was adjourned and Isherwood told that he would be sentenced by a Bolton judge on Tuesday.
