Good Samaritan named ‘Yvonne’ sought by police after man assaulted

A Good Samaritan intervened after a man was assaulted in a Wigan borough town.

The incident took place just outside a premises on St Helens Road in Leigh.

A woman has already been charged with assault and robbery in connection with the incident.

Officers are now seeking witnesses as they continue their investigations into the incident, which happened at around 9.45am to 10am on Sunday, September 24.

In particular, they are seeking to contact a witness who is believed to be named 'Yvonne', and who is believed to have come to the aid of a man involved.

She is not considered a suspect and is being sought purely as a witness to the incident.

Yvonne had brown hair and was approximately in her 40s.
