Investigation launched after robbers wearing balaclavas break into Wigan shop

Three men wearing balaclavas forced their way into a shop and stole a till in the early hours.

Emergency services were called at 1.50am on Saturday to a report of a robbery at the Tesco Express petrol station, on Bolton Road in Ashton.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and enquiries established that three males, wearing balaclavas, had forced entry to the store and made off with a till.

"The men subsequently fled the scene in a silver and black Nissan Terrano."

The investigation continues and anyone with information about what happened is asked to call police on 0161 856 7251, quoting log 308 of April 3.
