He gave a reading of 112 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Wigan magistrates told Banks he can reduce the disqualification to 26 weeks by completing a drink-drivers course.

But he must also complete 80 hours’ unpaid work.
