Nicholas Davies, 32, of Bourton Court, Tyldesley, had initially denied assaulting Danielle Johnson by beating during an incident on August 29, but changed his plea to guilty before it was due to go to trial at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court.

The bench ordered him to complete 100 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months, take part in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £495 in court costs and a victim services surcharge, the total being larger than usual because he had not admitted guilt at an earlier stage.
