Man admits having out-of-control dog
A man has admitted being in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control.
But Jack Picton denied that he also assaulted Catherine Khatir by beating and breaking her mobile phone on the same occasion.
Wigan and Leigh magistrates heard that the events took place in Garton Road, Lowton, on August 23 last year when Picton was responsible for a Rough Collie.
The 63-year-old of Stein Avenue, Lowton, admitted the charge under the Dangerous Dogs Act but pleaded not guilty to attacking Ms Khatir and to causing £40 damage to her iPhone 4 with intent.
The case was adjourned until July 4 when Picton will return to the same court to be tried over the assault and damage charge. He was released on unconditional bail.
