A man has admitted to being armed with a knife and screwdriver while in Wigan town centre.

Derek Cooper, 57, of Gidlow Lane, appeared before Wigan and Leigh justices to plead guilty to two charges of possessing offensive weapons in Wallgate.

He will be sentenced by a Bolton judge on November 21.
