Man arrested for drug and driving offences after police pursuit

Officers attempted to pull over a Golf in Leigh, but it failed to stop for police on Monday (February 8).
Following a chase, the car was eventually stopped.
A 22-year-old man, from Swinton, was arrested for failing to stop, dangerous driving and possession of a Class B drug.

Hide AdAfter a drug swipe he was further arrested for drug driving, a spokesman for GMP's Leigh, Atherton and Hindley district said.
The Golf was seized by officers.
It comes after the seizure of a number of vehicles by police in Leigh over the past few days.
A Volvo, which had been stolen and used in crime was also amongst those seized. The car had been seen in suspicious circumstances multiple times on Higher Folds and in Westleigh.
On Tuesday (February 9), it was spotted driving and then found abandoned with machetes and knives found inside.

Hide AdElsewhere a Toyota which drove off from officer was found abandoned.
Following checks it was found to be on cloned plates and also seized. Enquiries are ongoing.
