A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Wigan.

The victim was attacked in Ashton Heath, Ashton, at about 10.10pm on Wednesday (August 26), Greater Manchester Police said.
She was taken to hospital with stab wounds and has since been discharged.
Brian Holden, 49, of Ashton Heath, Ashton, has been charged with attempted murder.
He has been remanded in custody and is due before Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (August 28).
