A man has appeared before Wigan magistrates accused of making thousands of indecent images of children.

Johan Becker, 41, of Kirkhall Lane, Leigh, is charged with having 34 pictures that fell into the gravest category of abuse (A), 18 which were of a category B seriousness and 4,761 which were considered category C.
The bench heard he was likely to submit guilty pleas and he was bailed on condition he surrenders his passport and does not have any contact with under-16s except for inadvertant unadvoidable contact in public. He will be sentenced by a Bolton judge on March 18.
