More trespassing at abandoned Wigan mill
The Pagefield Building has become a magnet for antisocial behaviour and daredevils performing death-defying stunts in recent years. Last weekend, another a group of young people were photographed climbing around the dangerous, potentially crumbling remains of the former mill.
Discussions have been ongoing between the council and the building owners to beef up security in the area.

Hide AdCouncillors such as Wigan Central’s George Davies have long campaigned for the building to be made secure so that long-suffering locals can live without the worry of seeing the building regularly go up in flames, or witness urban explorers climb to the top of the chimney, risking their lives to hang off the railings.
Coun Davies said: “The council is doing everything possible but we now should know what is the owners’ position in dealing with the building?”
