Motorist caught driving twice after taking cocaine gets 16-month ban

A motorist who was twice caught driving after taking cocaine has been banned from the road for 16 months.

James Penny, 30, of Mornington Road, Atherton, appeared before Wigan justices to admit to being at the wheel of a Landrover Discovery on March 7 and a BMW 330 on April 27, both times in Bolton, while under the influence of the class A drug.

The bench ordered that he attend a drug dependency course, complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities and 200 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay £180 towards victim services and court costs.
