Murder probe continues as woman found dead at Wigan home is named locally

Police were called to a property on Mesnes Road in Swinley at 11pm on Thursday and found 48-year-old Sarah Fleming had died.

An investigation was launched and a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detectives are continuing to look into what happened and want to hear from anyone with information that could help their inquity.

Det Insp Neil Lawless, of Wigan CID, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who was sadly found deceased at her home overnight.

“Our investigation is in its very early stages and while we have one man in custody on suspicion of murder in relation to this incident, it is important we continue to approach this investigation with an open-mind at this time.

“We are still working to establish how the woman passed away and are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that can support our enquires; any information, no matter how small it may seem, could prove to be significant.”
