Christopher McCormack appeared before Wigan and Leigh magistrates to plead guilty to a breach of the Environmental Protection Act by repeatedly playing loud music, shouting and singing, much to the annoyance of those living around his home in Mealhouse Lane, Atherton.

The hearing was told that the 31-year-old had been served with a noise abatement notice on September 24 last year, but it had little effect and complaints from neighbours continued to be made about his anti-social activities.

The bench hit him with a £600 fine and ordered that he pay a further £300 in court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
