Police find two dogs stolen from Leicestershire at a property in Wigan

Two dogs stolen from Leicestershire have been found more than 100 miles away in Wigan by police.

Two people have been arrested after the basset hounds, which were taken in February, were discovered in Hindley on Monday night.

The animals will soon be returned to their owners.

A police spokesman said: "These two basset hounds were stolen from an address in Leicestershire in February this year. Through the power of social media they were found at an address in Hindley and safely removed by officers.

"The owners have been made aware and the dogs will be reunited with their family soon. Additionally, two adults have been arrested and an investigation is ongoing."
