Only weeks after being told a woman had been jailed for raiding Pam Shaw’s address and stealing jewellery in November, the 78-year-old suffered the trauma of another break-in.

And this time Pam, who has had roles in everything from Shameless to Alien Autopsy, was in her bungalow alone when the raid took place and saw the intruder making his escape.

A young man tried to force his way into the house on Banner Street, Ince, shortly before 5am on Friday April 10.

But before he could get completely into the spare bedroom through a small window, he triggered the alarm which woke Pam with a start and caused him to flee.

CCTV shows him entering and leaving Banner Street from the Warrington Lane end.

A shaken Pam this week appealed for witnesses and information that will help the police track down her tormentor.

She said: “It’s bad enough having to self-isolate on my own at home without this latest upset. I was still getting over the first burglary when this happened, and it was very frightening to be woken up by noises and the alarm going off in the early hours.

“It’s like I’m being targetted.

“I didn’t see him face to face but I saw him getting away. He broke my wishing well scrambling his way out of the garden and he was going down next door’s path.

“I shouted at him - although there wasn’t time to open the window so he probably didn’t hear - ‘I’ve got you on camera and I’m calling the police.’”

The man is described as slim and tall, in his 20s, very agile and waring a black jacket, leggings and a hoodie.

In November’s raid, Pam was out when a young woman was caught on CCTV breaking into her home and stole a quantity of jewellery.

Police have informed Pam that a woman has since been jailed for four years for that and a number of other raids, although her gems have not been returned.

Pam says that she is now in the process of further stepping up security at her home.

Anyone with information should ring police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
