'Shock' as children aged 13 and 14 found in car reported as stolen
Police officers who stopped a car reported to have been stolen were shocked to find a child behind the wheel.
The Mercedes was pursued by police in Atherton, after being reported as stolen, and officers discovered two schoolchildren in the car when it stopped.
A tweet from GMP Traffic said: "Merc reported as stolen just moments earlier was recovered following short pursuit with #GMPSCIU #traffic through Atherton. To our shock the driver was a 13yr friend of owners 14yr daughter both of whom had taken it out at 4am for a "ride"!! Both are #nowincustody"
