Two Ford Fiestas stolen from Wigan supermarket car park in just 45 minutes

An investigation is under way after thieves stole two vehicles from a supermarket car park in just 45 minutes.

Police were called twice on Tuesday evenings to reports of Ford Fiestas being taken from outside Wigan's Tesco Extra store.

A spokesman said: "At around 7.40pm on Tuesday, police received a report that a grey Ford Fiesta had been stolen from a car park on Central Park Way, Wigan.

"Later that evening, at around 8.25pm, a second white Ford Fiesta was reported stolen from the same location. This vehicle was later recovered in Farnworth.

Both cars were reported to have been stolen from the Tesco Extra car park

"The grey Ford Fiesta is still outstanding.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries remain ongoing."

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call police on 0161 856 7124, quoting incident 2964 of September 15.
