Vandals daub rail strike joke graffiti on Wigan trains

Vandals are being hunted after spray-painting graffiti over four trains in Wigan.

British Transport Police say the yobs caused £5,000 in damage to the carriages which were in sidings near Wallgate station during the early hours of November 18.

One of the trains had to be removed from service to allow the graffiti to be cleaned off.

The siding is located near to Prescott Street in Wigan.

Officers today asked for witnesses to get in touch, in particular anyone who was near to the sidings and saw a group acting suspiciously on the night of November 17 and into the early hours of November 18.

Any information, no matter how small, could prove vital in the officers investigation.
