Wigan drink-driver hit with 28-month road ban

A motorist has been banned from the roads for more than two years after being caught while three times the drink-drive limit.

Wigan magistrates heard that Zygimantas Bemovas was stopped by police while at the wheel of a BMW 320i as he headed down Manchester Road, Ince, on May 16. Breath tests showed he had 108 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Bemovas, from Lincoln Place, Marsh Green, admitted drink-driving and also driving without insurance. On top of his 28-month disqualification, he was also ordered to pay £180 in court costs and a victim surcharge.
