Another was said to be a prohibited image of a child and described by police as “realistic CGI-style video”.

And the final one concerned possessing an extreme pornographic image which “portrayed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person performing an act of intercourse with a live animal, namely a dog”.

This image was deemed to be “grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character”.

The 29-year-old of Balcarres Avenue, Whelley, had already been sentenced at Bolton Crown Court in May last year for engaging in sexual communication with a child.

For that he was given a two-year community order and put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years, while a seven-year sexual harm prevention order was issued against him.

The new charges relate to what was subsequently found on computer equipment and a mobile phone that were seized by officers from his home.

For these, he was given an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Ralphson must also now sign on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years and the forfeiture and destruction of his phone and computer were ordered.
