A 44-year-old man will appear in court charged with causing a public nuisance.

Michael Derbyshire, 44, of Scholes, was arrested by neighbourhood officers on Thursday (May 6) at Scholes Precinct.

He has been bailed to attend court on June 2.

Police bail conditions mean he cannot enter the precinct as bounded by streets including Scholes, Vauxhall Road, Wellington Street and Bradshawgate.

In a statement, a spokesman for the Wigan West division of Greater Manchester Police (GMP), said: "Michael Derbyshire, 44, of Scholes, has been charged following his arrest by neighbourhood officers on Thursday, May 6 for common law public nuisance at Scholes Precinct.

"Derbyshire has been bailed to attend court on June 2 and has police bail conditions not to enter Scholes Precinct as bounded by streets - Scholes, Vauxhall Road, Wellington Street and Bradshawgate.
