A Wigan man has been accused of making a series of hoax calls to the fire brigade.

Daniel Ralphs, of Upper Dicconson Street, is alleged to have made 13 false alarms between February 8 and March 3.

The 31-year-old also faces two charges for damaging internal doors belonging to the Coops Building on Dorning Street, one on February 20 and another on March 1, both valued at £1,032.

He also faces a separate charge of causing £1,000 damage to a fire alarm between February 8 and March 4, after allegedly damaging it on numerous occasions.

In total Ralphs faced 16 charges when he appeared before Wigan and Leigh magistrates. His case has been adjourned until June 1 and he will be remanded on bail until then.
