A Wigan man has been accused of a catalogue of child and animal porn offences as well as child abuse.

Sean Sumner, 29, of Battersby Street, Ince, appeared before Wigan and Leigh magistrates to face nine charges which include distributing 67 images of child abuse falling into the severest category of acts – A.

He is also accused of making images falling into all three categories of seriousness and possessing a prohibited image of a child.

There is a separate charge of possessing two images of “grossly offensive” acts of intercourse with animals. And another of trying to entice a boy of 12 into sexual activity.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between September 2017 and April 2018.

Sumner has yet to plead and due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the bench adjourned the case until October 7 – a hearing that the defendant does not have to attend.
