Wigan man arrested after off-road bike is stolen

A Wigan man has been arrested after an off-road bike was stolen.

The off-road scrambler bike was recovered by officers in St Helens who searched an address in Ashton-in-Makerfield on Sunday morning (May 17) following reports of a domestic disturbance.

Two people, including a 21-year-old Ashton man, have been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

A quantity of suspected Class B drugs were also recovered from the property.

A police spokesman said: " A 21 year-old man from Ashton-in-Makerfield was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug Class B and acquiring/possessing criminal property.

"A 50 year-old man from St Helens was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, theft of motor vehicle and handling stolen property.

"Both have been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
