Wigan teen denies taking van

A teenager has denied taking a Ford Transit without the owner’s consent which was then damaged in a crash.

Jordan O’Reilly, 18, of Croal Avenue, Platt Bridge, appeared before Wigan justices to plead not guilty to driving off in the van from an address in Leigh on December 20 and doing so without a licence or insurance. The hearing was told the van suffered damage in a collision on Westcroft Road, before it could be recovered.

O’Reilly was granted bail pending a February 25 trial on condition he only travels on public transport or his grandfather’s vehicle.
