Wigan teenager admits to catalogue of crimes

A Wigan teenager has admitted to a catalogue of crimes.

The 19-year-old, who cannot be named because he was dealt with in Wigan’s Youth Court and the offences date back to when he was a minor, pleaded guilty to 10 charges, including menacing someone, handling stolen goods and assault.

He had initially denied threatening a man and a woman with violence on separate occasions in 2019 but then changed his pleas. Two admissions involved receiving a stolen scooter and motorbike, another was to being carried in a stolen car. And he also admitted to assaulting a woman by beating.

The court gave him a three-year conditional discharge, he was banned from driving for a year and has £710 to pay in compensation to various victims.
