A Wigan man has been accused of making more than 100 indecent images of children.

Simon Blakeney, 58, of Grove Place, Standish, faces three charges relating to the photographs.

It is alleged he made 28 category A images of children, 18 category B and 97 category C between March 8, 2016 and July 13, 2018.

Blakeney is also charged with breaching a sexual harm prevention order banning him from using or downloading software for sharing, which was imposed by Liverpool Crown Court in 2016.

Wigan magistrates could not deal with the case due to the coronavirus pandemic, so it was adjourned until September and Blakeney was remanded on unconditional bail.

A Wigan man faces three charges of sexually touching a woman without her consent.

Mark McAleavy, 58, of Mesnes Avenue, Worsley Mesnes, is alleged to have committed the offences on February 9, January 2 and between January 1, 2019 and February 10, 2020.

Wigan magistrates adjourned the hearing until September and he was remanded on unconditional bail.

A woman has been handed a bill of more than £200 after being drunk and disorderly in Wigan town centre.

Alexandra Shaw, 44, of Bearncroft, Skelmersdale, pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place on Wallgate on June 1.

Mark Ricketts, 52, of Holden Walk, Pemberton, has been charged with assaulting Jade Shaw, Christine Shaw and Tim Barton on May 9.

A man has been charged with assaulting three police officers on two separate dates.

Lee Seddon, 38, of Highfield Grange Avenue, Winstanley, is alleged to have assaulted on officer in Wigan on March 16.

He is accused of being drunk and disorderly on Wallgate, in Wigan town centre, on the same day.

Seddon also faces several charges dating back to May 15 last year.

It is claimed he assaulted two police officers, damaged a car in a racially aggravated incident and damaged a door.

He is further charged with damaging the same car on May 19, 2019.

He will appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court on June 24.

A Wigan man accused of driving while disqualified will appear before magistrates later this year.

Mohamed Hafejee, 37, of Baycliff Close, Hindley, is also alleged to have driven a BMW X5 without insurance and other than in accordance with a licence on Leigh Road, Hindley Green, on March 6.

He faces a fourth charge of wilfully obstructing a police officer on the same date.

Wigan magistrates remanded him on conditional bail until a hearing in September.

A man has been accused of driving while disqualified and without insurance.

David Makuwa, 43, of Derby Road, Golborne, is alleged to have driven a Nissan Juke on Bridge Street, Golborne, on February 4.

Wigan magistrates adjourned the case until September due to the coronavirus pandemic and he was remanded on unconditional bail until then.
