Young Wigan petrol thief and burglar is locked up

An 18-year-old from Wigan has been given a four-month detention and training order for driving off from petrol stations without paying.

An 18-year-old from Wigan has been given a four-month detention and training order for driving off from petrol stations without paying.

The teen, of no fixed address, was also accused of trying to steal a Lex Moto scooter in Hindley and attempting to burgle a house in Westhoughton.

The hearing was told that the youth spent £129 on fuel in Wigan but then left the garage without paying, then did it again just two days later from a service station in Hindley. On that occasion £52 worth of fuel was taken.

The youth had originally denied the offences but changed his pleas to guilty.
